Three Republican legislators will take office United States House of Representatives seats in Indiana left open by GOP incumbents who did not run for re-election.

Indiana’s nine seats are elected every two years. Republicans currently hold seven seats, while Democrats hold two. This year, every U.S. House election in the state included a Libertarian candidate for the first time since at least 2012.

1st congressional district – Northwest Indiana

US Representative Victoria Spartaz He will take his seat after winning the 5th Congressional District, which includes Hamilton and other counties northeast of Indianapolis.

She survived a nine-candidate primary in May to be the Republican nominee after saying in 2023 that she wouldn’t run for re-election and then reverse that decision earlier this year. Spartz immigrated to the United States from Ukraine in 2000 and was first elected to the seat in 2020.

Jefferson Shreve wins the 6th Congressional District southeast of Indianapolis

Jefferson Shreve won the 6th Congressional District, which includes areas southeast of Marion County. He is the founder of Storage Express and was a Mayoral candidate 2023 from Indianapolis. He won a contested Republican primary for the seat in the United States House of Representatives in May.

The district is currently represented by Greg Pence, who announced earlier this year that he would not seek another term.

7th Congressional District – Marion County
