A trial date has been set for a man charged with murder following a fatal stabbing.

Elvis Vickers, 46, of Mousehold Street, Norwich, appeared at the city’s crown court via video link on Tuesday.

He has been charged with the murder of Abdulkadar Chadli, 48, who was found fatally wounded in Mousehold Street at around 22:15 GMT on Friday 1 November.

Vickers, who spoke only to confirm his name, was told he will go to trial in March 2025. He was remanded in custody.

Chadli was pronounced dead at the scene. An initial post-mortem examination found his death was consistent with a stab wound to the chest.

A 37-year-old man arrested in connection with the stabbing has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
