Today promises to be a busy Friday. Firstly, US President Joe Biden will visit Germany in the run-up to the presidential elections in the United States.

Meanwhile, British King Charles III and his wife Queen Camilla will visit Australia. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will hold a campaign rally in Detroit.

The hearing in the Supreme Court is likely to begin on the Madras High Court’s order for probe into the Isha Foundation. Meanwhile, the semi-finals of the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup will take place in Sharjah.

Let’s take a look at everything planned for the day ahead.

US President Joe Biden visits Germany

President Joe Biden will travel to Berlin today after rescheduling a visit last week due to Hurricane Milton hitting the US, the White House said. It is believed Biden will discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine with the leaders of Germany, France and Britain, as Kiev continues to urge its Western allies to take urgent steps to end the fighting.

The rapidly spreading conflict in the Middle East is also expected to be high on the agenda in talks between the leaders as diplomatic efforts to halt the fighting have stalled, news agency reports Reuters.

Biden was originally scheduled to convene a broader gathering of Ukrainian military supporters at the U.S. Ramstein Air Base in Germany last week during a planned three-day state visit to the country that would have been the first in nearly four decades. But it had to be canceled in order to focus on dealing with the attack and effects of Hurricane Milton.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla visit Australia

King Charles and his wife Queen Camilla will travel to Australia and Samoa today to take their place as head of the Commonwealth. He will also highlight the existential threat that climate change poses to Pacific island nations, the news agency reported AP.

This is a turning point for Charles, who is slowly returning to public duties after being diagnosed with cancer in February this month. Charles’ journey around the world comes as he tries to shore up support for the monarchy at home and abroad, two years after taking the throne.

AP noted that it will be a challenge the king will face in Australia, a country with a strong anti-monarchy movement.

Donald Trump holds campaign rally in Detroit

Donald Trump returns to Detroit to hold an election rally at Hunting Place. The visit follows his speech to the Detroit Economic Club on Oct. 10, when he said the entire country would end up like Detroit if Vice President Kamala Harris were elected in November.

According to a report from the WXYZ website, Vice President Kamala Harris will also be in town for an event.

The Supreme Court is likely to start a hearing on allegations of sexual harassment against women in the Isha Foundation

The Supreme Court is likely to hear the Madras High Court’s order seeking a probe into sexual harassment of women at the Isha Foundation and other religious institutions. Earlier, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court seeking strict implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act in all religious institutions and functions.

S. Kamaraj, a retired professor from Coimbatore, alleged that his two educated daughters were brainwashed by the spiritual leader. The application, filed through advocate Varun Thakur, stated that the Isha Foundation, a reputed institute that implements various programmes, is not adhering to the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013. It was further noted that despite large gatherings at religious events, there has been no implementation of this law.
