BOURBON – Triton School Corporation football coach Zach Whittaker has resigned after an investigation into a possible inappropriate relationship with a student.

According to a letter from the Triton School Corporation to staff members, “school administrators received information regarding a staff member’s possible relationship during a previous school year with a now former student.”

The school corporation said they notified the Indiana State Police and placed Whittaker on administrative leave.

Late on Monday, October 14, Whittaker, without consulting an administrator, submitted his resignation via email, effective immediately.

Triton says this matter is currently under investigation by the ISP and they have no further comment. However, the letter emphasizes that the company will “take all steps necessary to protect the well-being of those under our supervision.”
