PHOENIX (AZ Family) – A man is seriously injured after a stabbing Sunday night in downtown Phoenix.

Phoenix police responded to the incident near 16th Street and Indian School Road and found a man who had been stabbed. It is unclear exactly what time the stabbing occurred.

The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police at the scene said.

Officers remain on scene early Monday morning and the search for a suspect continues.

Eastbound Indian School Road is closed at 16th Street toward State Route 51 as the investigation continues.
