US court has “good news” for former Twitter boss Parag Agrawal and “bad news” for Elon Musk

The American court has

Parag AgrawalThe former Twitter CEO and many other top executives received good news from a court in their case against the owner of X. Elon Musk. According to a report, a judge ruled that Agrawal and other high-ranking executives have the right to sue. Muskwho allegedly fired them just when he took over the company to avoid paying them severance payments.
According to a Bloomberg report, the judge is also overseeing another lawsuit filed by former Twitter CEO Nicholas Caldwell, which seeks $20 million in lost severance pay. The same day, the judge denied a request by Musk’s lawyers to dismiss Caldwell’s claims.

What’s next for Parag Agrawal?

Agrawal can go ahead and sue the billionaire for terminating his duties at the social media company. The former general director is joined in the lawsuit Vijaya Gaddeformer legal director of Twitter; Ned Segalthe former financial director; and Sean Edgettthe former general councilor.
The executives maintained that Musk deliberately fired them before they could officially resign, thus depriving them of the compensation they were promised. All claim that they are entitled to one year’s salary plus unvested stock awards valued at the acquisition price.
His lawsuit cited a statement Musk made to his biographer: Walter Isaacsonin which he admitted his eagerness to close the deal to avoid “a $200 million differential between closing tonight and doing it tomorrow morning.”
The executives also accuse Musk of fabricating reasons for his dismissal to avoid meeting severance obligations.
“Musk doesn’t pay his bills, believes the rules don’t apply to him, and uses his wealth and power to trample anyone who disagrees with him,” the executives said.
Musk faces a web of legal conflicts, and disputes over employee compensation are a recurring theme. Following the acquisition of Twitter, which he renamed X Corp., Musk implemented drastic layoffs affecting thousands of employees as part of a major company overhaul.
