Diljit Dosanjh apologizes to fans who fell victim to ticket scams


New Delhi:

Diljit Dosanjh addressed alleged ticket scams surrounding his concerts in India during his Dil-Luminati Tour Concert in Jaipur on Sunday. The Punjabi singer and actor, who has become a global sensation in recent months, apologized to fans who fell victim to alleged ticket scams. Addressing the audience, Diljit Dosanjh said, “If anyone has fallen victim to a ticketing scam, I apologize. We have not done this. The authorities are currently investigating the matter,” India Today quoted him as saying.

Diljit also asked fans to remain “vigilant”.” and “stay away from those involved in the scam.” After Diljit’s successful concerts in Paris, London, Dublin and Amsterdam, his followers witnessed a significant increase in numbers. Sharing his inability to understand the situation of the sale of tickets, Diljit said on stage, “Our tickets were sold out so fast that even we didn’t know about it.”

Before the concert, which took place at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Center (JECC) in Sitapura area, the Jaipur police issued a notice asking people not to fall victim to fake ticket scams around the event.

“SCAM ALERT!! Beware of fake entries! Only valid tickets will be valid for entry to the Diljit Dosanjh concert. Only tickets sold by Zomato Live and Scope Entertainment are valid; all others are illegal,” a Jaipur police post on X said. “Entry with fake tickets will not be allowed. “Beware of fake ticket sellers and stay away from unauthorized purchases and sales,” he added.

Diljit Dosanjh started his India leg of tour in Delhi. After Jaipur, he has shows in Hyderabad on November 15, Ahmedabad on November 17 and Lucknow on November 22, among others, before wrapping up in Guwahati on December 29. In April, he made history by becoming the first Punjabi artist to perform at Vancouver’s BC. Place Stadium and the first Indian artist to appear on Billboard Canada.
