Brandon McManus joins Packers as lawsuit is resolved

Earlier this season, McManus was without a team after being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars following a lawsuit involving two women who accused him of misconduct during a flight to London in 2023. The lawsuit, filed by two flight attendants, alleged that McManus made inappropriate advances, attempting to kiss one of them and behaving inappropriately towards both of them. Despite these allegations, the lawsuit was recently resolved, although the details remain confidential. McManus and his legal team have indicated that the matter is behind them, saying: “The matter has been resolved.” His attorney, Brett Gallaway, reinforced the sentiment, stating that McManus is now focused on his NFL career.

Although McManus did not provide much insight into the resolution, his attorney, Tony Buzbee, who represented the plaintiffs, confirmed that the case had been settled and the terms remained private. McManus reflected on the challenging months he had endured and said it had been a difficult time, but he remained optimistic and persistent in seeking another opportunity to play. He shared his appreciation for the Green Bay Packers, saying, “It’s been a tough time these past few months. I’m glad it’s a thing of the past now. I hoped and worked hard for a new opportunity. “I am extremely grateful to the Green Bay Packers for giving me another opportunity to come back here and play the game I love.”
“The case is solved,” McManus said. “I was always open and honest about it. That’s how I was able to get through all of this.”
Despite the legal challenges, McManus’ on-field performances have always been commendable. Over the course of his career, he has made 81.4% of his field goals, excelling inside 50 yards with an impressive 90.8% success rate. However, its accuracy drops to 54.9% for kicks beyond 50 yards. After spending nine seasons with the Denver Broncos, McManus briefly joined the Washington Commanders before his legal troubles surfaced, leading to his release.
Now, with a clean slate, McManus is eager to showcase his talent again for the Packers, hoping his previous troubles are firmly behind him.
