    The Detroit Lions outscored their rival on Sunday, beating the Green Bay Packers 24-14.

    The victory moves the Lions to 7-1 on the year and marks their sixth consecutive victory.

    It wasn’t the offensive outburst fans were expecting from Detroit, but it was somewhat expected given the harsh elements as rain poured down throughout the game.

    Still, quarterback Jared Goff continued to be extremely efficient, completing 18 of his 22 pass attempts for 145 yards and a touchdown. He found his favorite target, Amon-Ra St. Brown, for his only touchdown pass.

    On the ground, Jahmyr Gibbs had 65 rushing yards and a touchdown, while David Montgomery ran for 73 yards.

    Although they were without Brian Branch for most of the game after the defensive back was expelled For helmet-to-helmet contact in the second quarter, the Lions defense held strong and allowed just six points until the final minutes of the quarter, although Green Bay’s late touchdown proved inconsequential.

    After another Detroit victory, fans applauded Goff and the Lions.

    One of the only knocks you could have dealt the Lions was Jared Goff’s inability to play in cold or bad weather. Detroit is proving that point to be irrelevant as they will simply shove the ball down your throat.

    After a win over the Packers, the Lions are firmly in the driver’s seat in the NFC North. They beat the Minnesota Vikings two weeks ago and defeated their other main rival on Sunday.

    Detroit won its first division title since 1993 a year ago and appears headed for another this year. Now, the Lions look to continue inching toward first place in the NFC.
