‘The last time I saw you you were a baby’

Taylor Swift has maintained the memorable tradition of giving a lucky fan part of her costume during each “Eras Tour” concert. On November 2, the penultimate show of the tour in the United States, the meeting was a moment that had been seven years in the making.

During the portion of the show dedicated to her fourth album “Red,” Swift walks down the runway while singing “22” and encounters an attendee standing at the edge of the stage. Swift bends down every night and takes off her black hat to give it to the fan.

Recipients of the famous “22” hat include Bianka Bryant daughter of Vanessa and the late Kobe Bryant; mikael arellanoa TikTok creator who went viral for his “Bejeweled” choreography; and Gracie Elliott TeefeySelena Gomez’s little sister.

Now there is Eloise, 7 years old.

Eloise received the cap during Swift’s second Indianapolis show on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium. The 7-year-old, dressed in a bright pink, green, purple and blue jacket, shared a big hug with Swift. The singer then seemed to say to Eloise“The last time I saw you you were a baby,” as he pretended to rock a baby.

The story is this: Seven years ago, Eloise’s mother, Cindy Childs, started a live broadcast on Instagram which Swift saw and commented on. Childs, a longtime Swiftie, chatted with the singer and showed her her baby Eloise, who was just a few months old at the time.

According screenshots posted by fans, Swift left a ton of comments on the livestream, including “ELOISE” in all caps and “she’s a little baby and I’ll meet her and A when they’re not 3 months old and I’ll just try to GET SOME REST.”

Saturday’s concert marked the first time Eloise saw Swift perform after being “born and raised as a Swiftie.”

Taylor Nation, an official X account associated with Swift, posted about the moment on Saturday.

“What a complete moment it is for Taylor to finally meet Eloise, @talldrinkhappy! It’s been a long wait of 7 years! We are very happy for her! #IndyTSTheErasTour #TSTheErasTour,” the account wrote.

But it wasn’t just Swift, Eloise and her mother who enjoyed the sweet moment. Longtime Swifties were also excited by the moment.

“I’M GOING TO CRY!” one fan wrote in X.

“At the cleric, we all cry for Eloise,” another wrote.

And one fan used a clip from “Succession,” in which Tom yells, “Excuse me, the executives are coming,” to show that only true Swift fans understand the significance of the moment.

“Veterans of the Swifties tonight as we sob for Eloise and watch people pretend to know the meaning.” the post said.
