NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A traffic stop in Mt. Juliet led to the arrest of a man wanted for a child sex crime and a convicted felon who was in possession of four handguns, according to the Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD). ).

Police said they stopped a vehicle for a signal violation Sunday night.

Upon stopping the vehicle, the officer discovered a 40-year-old Nashville man with active warrants for two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a minor dating back to October 4.

Another individual in the car was a 60-year-old convicted felon from Murfreesboro who was in possession of four handguns, MJPD said. Police said one of the guns had been stolen in Humboldt, Tennessee, in 2020.

Both individuals were arrested and booked into the Wilson County Jail, according to MJPD.

“A big thank you to our vigilante officers for their dedication to protecting and keeping wanted people out of Mt. Juliet,” MJPD said in a social media post.
