PLATTE CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A driver was seriously injured after a rollover collision on I-29 north of Kansas City International Airport over the weekend.

He Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that around 7:30 pm on Saturday, November 2, emergency crews were called to the area of ​​southbound I-29 and Missouri 92 in Platte City on reports of a single-vehicle collision.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a 39-year-old Eldon man driving his 2023 Ford Expedition south on the interstate when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle left the road and went down an embankment.

Investigators noted that the truck crashed into several trees on the road. As a result of the accident, the driver, who was wearing a seat belt at the time, was seriously injured. He was taken to North Kansas City Hospital for treatment.

State troopers said the pickup truck was totaled during the collision. No further information has been released.
