Manchester United drew 1-1 with Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Bruno Fernandes broke the deadlock with a penalty after goalkeeper Robert Sánchez was adjudged to have brought down Rasmus Hojlund.

United’s lead lasted just four minutes when Moisés Caicedo fired a powerful shot to ensure the spoils were shared.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men had 46% possession, compared to Chelsea’s 54%. United had four shots on goal from a total of 11 scoring opportunities. The visitors, on the other hand, fired 12 shots but only three required the intervention of André Onana.

The Red Devils made 402 passes with a pass accuracy of 79%. Chelsea made 62 more passes with a slightly higher pass completion rate of 83%.

One of United’s best players during a match that lacked quality, especially in the final third, was Noussair Mazraoui.

From the first minute to the last, he was brilliant and hardly put a foot wrong, an impressive feat considering he played as a left-back.

During his time on the field, Mazraoui made two clearances and two interceptions. He also blocked a shot.

The Moroccan international managed six tackles. He went deep in 16 ground duels and was successful on 13 occasions.

Mazraoui touched the ball 63 times and successfully found his teammates with 33 of the 36 passes he attempted, achieving a pass accuracy of 92%.

The 26-year-old tried to hit a long ball but couldn’t find the target.

Mazraoui embarked on five dribbles and completed all five.

United have struggled at left back all season due to injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, but Mazraoui can certainly provide a solution for the team on that side of the pitch.

The club’s next commitment will be to face PAOK in the Europa League.
