Cards’ Emari Demercado runs 53 yards before the half for TD vs. Bears

GLENDALE, Ariz. — With 12 seconds left in the first half and the Arizona Cardinals facing a third-and-5 from their own 47, running back Emari De Mercado received a transfer from the quarterback Kyle Murray and cuts to his right.

He found a gap and outran the Chicago Bears’ three-man rush plus a charge. Josh Blackwell.

From there, Demercado ran through another hole at the Bears’ 48, cut outside around the 40 and was out of the running.

His touchdown gave Arizona a 21-6 halftime lead and was the longest touchdown run in the final 30 seconds of the first half this season. It was also the Cardinals’ longest rushing touchdown since Kenyan Drake69-yard run in Week 6 of 2020.
