Dandridge man sentenced to life in prison for child pornography crimes

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – A Dandridge man was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday after being convicted of multiple child pornography charges in July 2023.

The Justice Department announced Wednesday that 68-year-old Glenn Fred Glatz has been sentenced to life in prison. On July 28, 2023, Glatz was found guilty of production of child pornography, one count of receiving child pornography, three counts of transmitting obscene matter to a minor under the age of 16, and one count of possession of child pornography.

According to court filings, this was the third time Glatz has been convicted of sex crimes against children.

During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence showing that Glatz used the social media platform “DeviantArt.com” to befriend young girls, whom he then groomed and sexually exploited. According to the DOJ release, further evidence showed that he enticed at least two girls, ages 13 and 14, to create live sexually explicit videos and images of themselves for him to view via social media. He then sent the victims’ nude photos to other young girls in the hope of enticing them to send him sexual images of themselves.

The DOJ added that witnesses testified that Glatz was on the sex offender registry due to prior convictions involving the molestation of a young girl.
