GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A 22-year-old Green Bay woman has been sentenced to more than three months in prison for stealing thousands of dollars worth of belongings from residents in a residential care center where she worked.

Court records show Jorden Batten, 22, was sentenced by Judge Thomas Walsh to three months in prison, followed by nine years of extended supervision. Batten will also undergo a COMPAS evaluation and complete any counseling deemed necessary by officials. She was given credit for two days she had already spent in jail.

The thefts occurred in June 2023. According to a criminal complaint, a Brown County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to the residential facility on June 6 after a report of cash and items stolen from residents’ rooms. The next day, a similar complaint was made about a missing tablet, and another resident later reported that a tablet had been stolen.

One of the tablets was returned to the owner’s room, but an employee later found a tablet in Batten’s bag. Authorities questioned Batten, who admitted to taking three tablets and about $1,000 from residents over a four-week period.
