Steelers Nation never disappoints

Patrick Queen left a passionate fan base in his own right when he signed with the Steelers after playing for the Baltimore Ravens, but he never expected it to be the way it has been with Steelers Nation, especially in Las Vegas.

“I remember running through the tunnel to get out on the field and it was yellow everywhere, for a road game in Las Vegas,” Queen said. “For our fans to travel like this, it’s crazy. Usually NFL teams don’t travel that well.

“I appreciate them a lot. They give us everything they have. They love their team. They love the Steelers. And that’s what makes you want to play even harder for them. How much they love their team.

“Seeing that turnout in Las Vegas definitely makes you smile and makes your heart happy.”

Receiver Scotty Miller has played in Tampa and Atlanta, and he has never experienced what he has experienced so far this season.

“It’s different than any other place I’ve ever been,” Miller said. “It started when I first got here, at the training ground in Latrobe. I’ve never seen anything like it. It seemed like there were 5,000 or more fans every day. It doesn’t stop, no matter if it’s Tuesday or Tuesday.” Saturday night when we practice has been fun. It definitely gives you an advantage, especially in Las Vegas. You come out of the tunnel and see yellow towels everywhere.

“No matter what city you’re in, they’re there supporting you. Even after the games, they’re still there waiting for you. Even if it’s just being three miles down the road when you’re coming back to the airport on the highway.” bus, you’ll see Steelers fans waving. “It’s crazy.”
