Deadly single-vehicle crash in Rankin County neighborhood

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) – The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department received a call at approximately 8:30 pm Saturday about a single-vehicle accident in the Robinhood neighborhood of Brandon.

When first responders arrived, they discovered the driver had been partially ejected from the vehicle and was trapped.

According to representatives from the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, the driver suffered serious injuries.

Officials called AirCare to prepare to transport the driver to a hospital.

After being removed from the vehicle, CPR was performed but the driver never regained consciousness.

They died at the scene, according to the sheriff’s department.

Current evidence shows that the driver may not have been wearing a seat belt.

The victim has not yet been identified.
