Mother pleads not guilty to murdering child in Peoria

PEORIA (25News Now) – A Peoria mother pleaded not guilty in the death of her one-month-old child.

Andrea Luncsford, 26, pleaded guilty Thursday to one charge of murder and another charge of endangering the life and health of a child.

One-month-old Grayson Luncsford was found dead by Peoria police on September 16.

Autopsy results showed he had been dead for 12 to 24 hours.

Coroner Jamie Harwood ruled on Tuesday that cocaine intoxication was the ultimate cause of death, but the child also suffered from heat stress, dehydration, malnutrition and neglect.

Luncsford remains in the Peoria County Jail.

She has to appear in court again in November.
