Tamil actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) passed a resolution during its executive council meeting on Sunday opposing the Centre’s ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal.

The party also passed a resolution demanding withdrawal of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) from Tamil Nadu.

He condemned the DMK government for not conducting a caste survey in the state and blaming the Center for it.

The TVK also lashed out at the DMK, led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, and said its election promise “was full of lies to come to power”.

vijay held his first political rally in Villupuram district of Tamil Nadu. on October 27, eight months after launching his political party in February.

At the rally he announced his party’s ideology and objectives, which included equality, social justice, secularism, promotion of Tamil as an administrative language in courts, and removal from the governorship.

Vijay had said his party’s approach is based on both Dravidianism and Tamil nationalism, describing them as “the two eyes of our soil”.

Rather than limiting TVK’s identity to one faction, it advocated for broader secular values ​​centered on justice, unity, and social growth.

Vijay has announced that his party will contest the 2026 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
