Rajkot: A 21-year-old married woman from Suraj Karadi village in Devbhumi Dwarka district died by suicide at her residence on Sunday, allegedly due to brutal intimidation from her former lover, Rajiv alias Vicky Saxena.
Her husband, Jayesh Bharadwa (30), has filed a complaint under the Indian Penal Code against Saxena at the Mithapur police station for abetment to suicide and offenses under the law. Information Technology Act.
The suspect allegedly sent compromising and obscene photos and videos of the deceased to her husband and his family through social media. The constant harassment and threats led her to end her own life.
The woman, who hails from Jaunpur district, had been married to Bharadwa for only three months. Saxena had been defaming her on social media for the past fifteen days. Police have recorded statements of the woman’s husband and family members and are working on arresting the suspect, said VA Rana, the investigating officer.
According to police sources, the deceased was in a live-in relationship with the suspect for one and a half years, during which he clicked pictures of her and recorded intimate videos. Initially, he sent obscene photos and videos to her husband’s Facebook account. He also made insulting comments about the woman and searched the Facebook accounts of other family members and sent them her intimate photos. He also made derogatory comments about the loyalty of the woman and her family.
