Police searching for hit-and-run driver in North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Action News obtained surveillance video of the vehicle allegedly involved in a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian seriously injured.

It was shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday when officers responded to the 900 block of Watts Street in North Philadelphia.

Police say the driver hit a 25-year-old man and then kept going.

“Turn yourself in, don’t hurt anyone and do the right thing,” said Cecil Bosman of Francisville.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police say the man suffered a fractured skull and internal bleeding.

“Honestly, it was pretty scary because it could have been anyone. It could have been me. I also travel around here late at night,” said Jon Glenn of Frankford.

Police are searching for the driver of the white vehicle, possibly a Jeep. He was last seen speeding southbound on Watts Street toward Parrish Street.

“Honestly, I’m not surprised that someone was speeding and got hit. I almost got hit with my skateboard a couple of times. A guy broke my skateboard running over it and I had to jump out of the way,” Glenn said. .

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the driver to contact them.
