Surely, Penn State fans are waiting to see when they will overcome this hurdle. And while the loss probably won’t hurt the Nittany Lions’ chances in the College Football Playoffs much, it does raise the question of whether they’re ready for that stage.

Apparently, a fan of the game wanted to find out for himself.

As Franklin walked off the field after the game, he shook hands and hugged several people leading to the tunnel, but he must have heard something in the stands.

Two fans were criticizing Franklin, with one saying, “That’s horrible.” Another fan’s words are difficult to understand, but Franklin disagreed.

Franklin approached the fan, who was clearly angry, and asked him what his name was. At that point, the fan no longer wanted to participate in the conversation and Franklin left a farewell message.

“If you’re going to be man enough to talk, what’s your name?” Franklin asked again.

Franklin then walked down the tunnel to applause from other Penn State fans.

Penn State took a quick 10-0 lead, but did not score an offensive touchdown all day. His only touchdown was a pick-six the first time the defense took the field.

Penn State had a golden opportunity to tie the game when it had first and goal from inside the 5-yard line with five minutes left in the fourth quarter.

But the Buckeyes’ defense stopped Penn State’s offense four times from inside the 5-yard line to keep them out of the end zone, securing a 20-13 victory.
