Actor Jayasurya calls himself a ‘living martyr’ after being questioned by Kerala police over sexual assault allegations: Bollywood News

The Kerala Police registered the fresh FIR at Karamana police station in Thiruvananthapuram against Malayalam actor Jayasurya, following allegations of sexual assault by a female colleague. The actor was recently called to the police station for an investigation, during which he firmly denied all allegations. The actor shared his thoughts on these allegations to multiple media outlets and called himself a ‘living martyr’ as he condemned these cases and elaborated on how they affect one’s life.

In an interaction with the publication Manorama, he said: “I completely deny the allegations. This is a made up case. I don’t even need interim bail.’ He continued: “It is alarming that people would make such false accusations against anyone. At least I have a platform to argue my case. Many others don’t do this. It could destabilize many families. .”

According to a report in Mathrubhumi, Jayasurya also said, “I am facing two false charges. A woman has talked in several places implying it is me, but later denied it several times. I will fight this legally until the allegations against me are proven false. I believe I am a living martyr.”

For those unfamiliar, talking about two cases, another case of sexual assault was filed against Jayasurya, following allegations of molestation by a female actor on a film set near Thodupuzha, Kerala, between 2012 and 2013.

Readers will be aware that the Malayalam industry has been embroiled in allegations of sexual assault and rape against several actors in recent times. The Justice K Hema Committee report revealed widespread allegations of sexual harassment against several influential people in the Malayalam film industry. The incidents have sparked a #MeToo movement in the Malayalam film industry, with several industry figures accused of misconduct. The Kerala government has appointed an SIT (Special Investigations Unit) to look into these claims and as the same unfolds, the public is waiting for further updates on these disturbing allegations.
