Robert Telles will speak at the sentencing hearing, sources say

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A source close to the case confirmed Robert Telles will speak at his sentencing hearing Wednesday morning.

The former Clark County administrator convicted of the murder of Las Vegas investigative journalist Jeff German will find out how much time he will spend in prison for the crime.

The murder occurred outside Jeff German’s home in September 2022.

Robert Telles was found guilty of first-degree murder by a jury in late August. That same jury recommended that Telles serve life in prison, with the possibility of parole after twenty years.

However, Judge Michelle Leavitt will determine whether that will be the sentence or choose to add additional time due to an enhancement to the murder charge.

In this case, the improvement would be that German was over 60 at the time of the murder.

Traditionally, the victim’s family has their say in similar interrogations.

FOX5 will be in the courtroom for the hearing and we will report live on air and online.
