“That breaks a record that was set at 54,000 in 2008,” said Mike West of the BOE.

With just one day left to vote early in person, people are making sure they have a say in America’s future.

Lines were long Saturday, with some people telling 19 News they waited more than an hour to cast their vote.

“This tells us that people are very excited about voting,” West said. “They are very passionate about voting and can’t wait to come here and make their voices heard.”

West says they have added more parking options to make the voting experience smoother.

To be able to vote in person it is necessary to have a valid identification document.

Examples include an Ohio driver’s license, passport, or military ID.

More than 170,000 people requested a ballot by mail and time is running out to deliver it.

“Monday is the postmark deadline,” West said. “So if you go on Monday, go early in the day to make sure it’s postmarked.”

If you can’t vote on Sunday, remember. You cannot vote early on Monday.

But don’t worry, you can always vote on Election Day, Tuesday.

“We think there will be a lot of activity,” West said. “We expect a turnout of 70 percent or more.”
