LeBron James isn’t closing the door on a possible collaboration with Steph Curry in the future

For the first time in his career, superstar LeBron James was exposed to trade rumors last season.

The Golden State Warriors reportedly reached out to the Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the trade deadline in February to pair James with fellow star Steph Curry in the Bay Area. It didn’t get far, but the deal was investigated by Warriors owner Joe Lacob.

Last summer, James finally teamed up with Curry at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, as the two stars led Team USA to a gold medal. Would James ever consider teaming up with the sharpshooter in the NBA?

“I have no idea,” James told reporters Tuesday ahead of the Lakers-Warriors preseason game at Crypto.com Arena.

However, James was happy with the time he spent with Curry in Paris after the two spent a decade battling for NBA championships as archrivals.

“It was everything and more,” James said. “I was super excited to finally be able to work with him in a win or die atmosphere. That was it, being part of the Olympic Games. It was everything I dreamed of and strived to be a part of. from that team, together with Steph. Great memories, something I will remember for the rest of my life.”

Lakers teammates have taken note that James was in trade rumors last season, but center Anthony Davis insists it had no impact on the team’s performance. The Lakers advanced through the play-in tournament, but fell to the Denver Nuggets in five games in the first round.

“I was on social media at the time, so I didn’t see it,” Davis said via The Athletics Jovan Buha. ‘I heard about it. How did I hear about that? I don’t even know anymore. I mean, it was fucking national news. …I think my dad might have called me. Something like that.

“But I don’t think it’s affected anyone. I mean, I think this might be the first time ever in his career that he’s been in trade talks. He’s basically seen everything, so I don’t think that’s affected him. That didn’t affect him.” had no impact on our team. But it was definitely strange to hear him being talked about in a trade for the first time. But it didn’t happen.’

The Warriors and Lakers will tip off Tuesday night at 10 PM ET. Both teams still have a number of practice matches to go before the regular competition starts next week.
