Cooper Koch confirms he wasn’t wearing a prosthetic penis in that ‘Monsters’ nude scene

Cooper Koch opens up about that nude scene in ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.’

Koch, who plays real-life convicted murderer Erik Menendez in the Netflix crime drama, confirmed on “Watch What Happens Live” that he does in fact bare all in a much-discussed shower sequence in the series’ third episode.

“Just so you know, mine wasn’t a prosthetic,” Koch told host Andy Cohen during a discussion of the most iconic full-frontal nude scenes on film.

After Cohen complimented him on his, uh, performance in the scene, the actor joked, “Good hanging!”

Elsewhere in his “Watch What Happens Live” interview, Koch provided more specific details about the scene.

“It’s not scary. I would say it’s more awkward at first,” he said, when asked if he was nervous about appearing naked on camera. “And it is very cold, especially in the shower.”

“Monsters,” which premiered last month on Netflix and was co-created by Ryan Murphy, has proven to be a breakthrough moment for Koch. The series also stars Javier Bardem and Chloë Sevigny as José and Kitty Menendez, who were murdered in 1989 by their sons Erik and Lyle Menendez, the latter of whom is played by Nicholas Alexander Chavez.

As is the case with many of Murphy’s true crime projects, ‘Monsters’ has generated its fair share of controversy. But it has also helped reignite public interest in the Menendez brothers, who were convicted in 1996 of murdering their parents and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Last week, Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon confirmed he was reviewing evidence that could give the two men a chance at freedom after 28 years behind bars. Among those who have called for the brothers’ release is Kim Kardashian.

“If this crime had been committed and tried today, I believe the outcome would have been dramatically different,” she wrote earlier this month in an essay published by NBC, pointing to the men’s well-documented claims that they were sexually and physically abused by their parents. as children.
