ITV confirms Trigger Point return for third series

ITV has given the green light to a third series of drama thrillers Trigger pointthe broadcaster has confirmed.

The show, it shines Vicky McClure as a bomb disposal expert, ranks as ITV’s second most-watched drama of the year, behind only the critically acclaimed Mr. Bates versus the Post Office.

In series three, McClure’s Lana Washington investigates a bomb threat that appears to be the work of someone targeting individuals as part of a sinister vendetta.

“Trigger point is back! We are all so excited to get started,” said McClure. “Having had such a positive response to the previous two series, we want to make the next series even more exciting, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats as we get to know each other even more about the brilliant characters in the show.

“Lana is such a complex character to play, it’s a joy for an actor to play a role with as many layers as Lana.”

ITV drama head Polly Hill added, “I’m happy with that Trigger point will return for a third series and Vicky McClure will reprise her role as Lana Washington.

“There will be many more twists and of course explosions in this third series, viewers will love it!”

Filming for the new series will start next year in London.
