A man has been charged with arson and violent disorder in connection with riots in the Harehills area of ​​Leeds earlier this year.

Trouble erupted when hundreds of people gathered in the streets for several hours on July 18 and 19, with a police car overturned, a bus set on fire, and officers riddled with missiles.

Alfie Robinson, 24, of Cowper Street, Leeds, is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with violent disorder and arson with intent or recklessness as to whether life was endangered.

A total of 43 people have been arrested over the disorder and four people have been sentenced to date, West Yorkshire Police said.
