New Jersey school program fundraiser to support seriously injured women’s soccer star

Whippany Park will celebrate Molly Mack Day on Nov. 21 to raise funds for the family of the 18-year-old soccer player, who was seriously injured in a car accident last weekend.

Mack was injured when two trucks collided on Route 24 in Morris County Sunday afternoon, authorities said. The truck that was struck overturned, leaving the teen seriously injured, State Police said. Mack is the captain of the football team and is committed to High Point University.

The Whippany Park fundraiser will include a co-ed exhibition game between the boys and girls soccer teams at Morris County School on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6. Molly Mack Strong T-shirts and bracelets are on sale now . All proceeds will be donated to the Mack family.

“Whippany Park High School is proud to host “Molly Mack Day” in support of WPHS 12th grade student Molly Mack, who was recently injured in a car accident,” the post read. “Molly proudly wears number 21 for the Whippany Park High School girls soccer team, so it’s only fitting that her day is the 21st! On “Molly Mack Day,” Thursday, November 21, 2024, we encourage all of our students, staff, and community members to wear t-shirts and wristbands that will be sold by the WPHS PTO and the Girls Soccer Booster Club.”

The Whippany Park Girls Soccer Booster Club also posted a message on their Facebook page to show your support for Molly and the Mack family.

“Molly Mack exemplifies what it means to be a Wildcat. Molly is not only one of the best soccer players in the state, but also one of the kindest. Mack’s smile is larger than life. Her character is shown on and off the field, as she is the heart and soul of the women’s soccer team (Whippany Park). As captain, Molly leads by example with her play on the field. His leadership and commitment to his teammates is unmatched. Molly is more than just an athlete, she is a wonderful and kind person. We ask everyone to keep Molly, her mom, dad, siblings, the wp women’s soccer team and her friends in your thoughts as we wish her a speedy and full recovery. #wearemollymackstrong”
