Staff Discovered Woman’s Body in Room at Upscale Wellness Center, Homicide Detectives Say

SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. (Gray News) – Police say a 33-year-old woman was found dead inside a guest room at an exclusive wellness resort in New York on Monday.

Suffolk County Police Department identified the victim like Sabina Rosas, from Brooklyn.

Homicide detectives say Rosas was found murdered at the Shou Sugi Ban House on Montauk Highway in Water Mill.

Investigators determined Rosas was a “victim of violence” after a resort staff member found her body in a guest room, according to Suffolk County police.

Authorities identified the suspect in Rosas’ murder as 56-year-old Thomas Gannon. Police said Wednesday that Gannon was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.

Police identified the victim as 33-year-old Sabina Rosas of New York.

Law enforcement officials did not initially reveal the connection between Gannon and Rosas, but friends told WCBS I was obsessed with her as an artist.

The Suffolk County Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy on Rosas to determine the exact cause of death.
