Federal Prosecutors Will Seek Enhanced Sentences for Defendants in Backpack Cocaine Case

MOBILE, Alabama (WALA) – Federal prosecutors said they intend to seek higher penalties if they obtain convictions in a Mobile county. drug case involving child’s backpack.

This first came to light in March when the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office raided woman’s home on Harvey Courtnear Hank Aaron Park. Investigators said they found the woman’s 3-year-old son with a backpack full of cocaine. Prosecutors allege that the woman, Cerro Tierra TocorraHe had several kilograms of cocaine.

The man prosecutors accuse of running a drug company, Glennie McGeeHe was convicted in 2006 on a federal crack cocaine charge in Mobile. Co-defendant Eric Aguilar was convicted 20-10 on a methamphetamine charge in Texas. That would increase the mandatory minimum sentence from 10 to 15 years if convicted in Mobile.

The trial is scheduled for this March.
