PUEBLO — This month we honor a group that helps keep Pueblo clean. The Pueblo City Council declared October as Code Enforcement Month in the city.

Pueblo Code Enforcement is a 20-person team that cleans properties and enforces codes or ordinances that impact the following:

• buildings
• the environment
• any discomfort

“So code enforcement is important because it helps preserve property value, promotes safety and health,” said Karen Willson of Pueblo Code Enforcement.
As of October, Pueblo Code Enforcement has handled nearly 1,100 complaints or violations, which is almost 40% more than this time last year.
