ACOMA TOWNSHIP, Minn. (FOX 9) – A Hutchinson woman died after crashed head on with a man driving a pickup truck in McLeod County Thursday morning.

what we know

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 77-year-old woman was driving east on Highway 7, while a 29-year-old man was driving west. The two eventually collided near Vale Avenue.

Authorities say the woman died after the crash and the man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Road conditions at the time of the accident were snow and ice.

Authorities have not released the identity of the woman who died in the crash.

Background

The State Patrol reported 260 accidents due to snowy weather. Two of those accidents were fatal. 111 vehicles ran off the road, seven vehicles spun and a semi-trailer was stabbed.
