Thomas Frank press conference: Fulham vs Brentford preview

Brentford manager Thomas Frank spoke to the media ahead of Monday’s Premier League match against Fulham (start at 20:00 GMT).

These are the key lines from his press conference:

  • Defender Kristoffer Ajer “is progressing well” and midfielder Christian Norgaard “is fit and ready for Monday” after he was rested for the Carabao Cup fourth-round match against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek.

  • On his links to the Manchester United and Chelsea jobs over the summer, Frank said: “I have said many times that I am happy here at Brentford. I love it. I feel a responsibility towards the fans, the players, the staff. Extremely dedicated to do everything I can for this lovely club. I’m not talking about what if or maybe with me in the future, I don’t know. Maybe I’ll stay here for a long, long time.

  • He described Brentford as “one of the best clubs in the world” and said there are “very few clubs that are better at everything”.

  • On facing Fulham: “It’s a local derby and in recent years it’s been very close between the two teams – we’ve had some fantastic games against each other. Now we play on Monday night, under the floodlights, Craven Cottage, a historic stadium, we will bring 3,000 fans and we will do everything possible for them to achieve victory.

  • He continued: “We are facing a very good opponent. Fulham have done very well in recent years, I think Marco Silva and his coaching staff have done a great job in the way they have built them up. They have started this season. flying and probably deserved more points than they have gotten so far.
