Man accused of voting twice in Wisconsin, Florida, in the same election

A Mukwonago man is accused of voting twice (once in Wisconsin and once in Florida) in the 2018 and 2020 elections.

Court documents show Jason Osheim, 37, is charged with two counts of voter fraud. His first court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 21.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission reported voter fraud to the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office. According to a criminal complaint, the report said it appeared Osheim voted twice in the Nov. 3, 2020 general election, once in Wisconsinonce in Florida.

Prosecutors said voting records found that Osheim registered to vote absentee in Florida via the Volusia County Clerk’s Office on October 5, 2020 and provided an address in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The complaint said he cast an absentee ballot in that county.

Court documents showed a review of Wisconsin documentation and a voting list of Mukwonago showed that Osheim was at the ballot box to vote Wisconsin on November 3, 2020.

A detective spoke with the Volusia County Chief Deputy Supervisor of Elections. Prosecutors said the chief deputy supervisor confirmed that Osheim voted in the county by absentee ballot and that he has a voting record in the state showing he also voted in the county. Florida election on November 6, 2018.

Waukesha County Detectives then searched Osheim’s home. Wisconsin voting history further and determined that he also voted in Mukwonago on November 6, 2018.

Multiple attempts by authorities to contact Osheim to discuss these cases were unsuccessful, according to the complaint.
