Erik ten Hag’s former teammate Hans Kraay Jr has revealed that Manchester United’s decision to sack the Dutchman left him devastated.

DAILY POST reports that the Dutch manager was sacked on Monday (October 28), ending a 26-month reign at Old Trafford.

He led the Red Devils to two trophies in as many years, but United lacked playing identity during his stay.

Following his sacking, the former Ajax boss received a lucrative reward, but he still seems disappointed.

Kraay Jr addressed Ten Hag’s state of mind and how he reacted to losing his job.

He said (via mufcMPB): “I understand he will receive €17 million and then people say: ‘he will do a cartwheel around Manchester’.

“No, it is totally, completely devastated, it is completely ruined.”
