Two minors accused of setting fire to a classroom

STANFORD, Ky. (WKYT) – Two juveniles were arrested after police say they set fire to a high school classroom.

In a Facebook post, the Stanford Police Department says the couple was arrested on Wednesday.

Both are charged with arson and criminal mischief.

Crews were initially called to Lincoln County High School on Tuesday for a fire in the building.

When they arrived, they found smoke in the building and traced it to a single classroom.

The fire was contained to that classroom and extinguished.

No injuries were reported.

“We are grateful and fortunate that there were no injuries in this very serious incident,” the Facebook post said. “We have always and will continue to hold accountable those responsible for endangering or threatening the safety and well-being of Lincoln County Schools students and staff.”
