Martin Scorsese’s Beatles ’64 Documentary Confirms Disney Plus Release Date

The documentary offers a rare glimpse into “when The Beatles became the most influential and beloved band of all time.” Tuesday, November 29 on Disney Plus.

The synopsis reads: “On February 7, 1964, The Beatles arrived in New York City amid unprecedented excitement and hysteria.

“From the moment they landed at Kennedy Airport and were met by thousands of fans, Beatlemania conquered New York and the entire country.

“Their electrifying debut performance on The Ed Sullivan Show captivated more than 73 million viewers, the most-watched television event of its time.

“Beatles ’64 presents the spectacle, but also reflects a more intimate behind-the-scenes story, capturing the camaraderie of John, Paul, George and Ringo as they experienced unimaginable fame.”

The documentary features live performance footage of The Beatles’ first American concert at the Washington, DC Coliseum.

The music and images in the documentary are “supplemented by newly filmed interviews with Paul and Ringo”, and the documentary also features interviews with fans whose lives were transformed by The Beatles.

Coinciding with the documentary’s release, seven American Beatles albums have been analog cut to 180-gram audiophile vinyl from their original mono master tapes for worldwide release on Tuesday, November 22.

Meet The Beatles!, The Beatles’ Second Album, A Hard Day’s Night (Original Motion Picture Sound Track), Something New, The Beatles’ Story (2LP), Beatles ’65 and The Early Beatles are now available for pre-order in a new vinyl box set entitled The Beatles: 1964 US Albums in Mono, with six of the titles also available individually.
