After Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire In the end it was a disappointment, I wasn’t sure what the future had in store for me Ghostbusters franchise. That’s what a lot of fans thought Jason Reitman And Gil Kenan dropped the ball on that film.

Good, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire writer and director Gil Kenan has confirmed that they want to make more Ghostbusters follow-up.

During an interview with The Direct, Kenan said: “Jason (Reitman)… we take the responsibility and the fun of being the keepers of the flame of Ghostbusters very seriously… we are definitely continuing the conversation about telling big Ghostbuster stories on the big screen. And stay informed. There will be more. More about that later.”

While the latter Ghostbusters movie wasn’t the best, I’m open to more Ghostbusters movies on the big screen. I just hope Reitman and Kenan learn from their past mistakes. Fans are just looking for a strong and fun story.

From now on there is also a new one Ghostbusters animated series coming to Netflix, overseen by Reitman and Kenan. There is also an animated film in development.

Kenan previously spoke about some ideas he has for sequels, saying: “I’m a greedy fan. I want more and more Ghostbusters fans, I would be happy if these stories spread in all directions.

“I’m glad we’re back in New York City, but I wouldn’t mind seeing something that actually goes to other parts of the world. I feel like one of the things we explore in this film is that there are mythologies that don’t just talk about age-old threats.

“But it’s age-old ghost-busting that the team in 1984 weren’t the first to come together to find a way to stop a supernatural threat.

“I would like to explore how other cultures, or at least as a fan, like to see how other cultures create specific threats and specific ways to deal with them in future episodes.”

No word yet on when the next one Ghostbusters sequel could go into production.
