Russian court sentences French researcher to 3 years in prison

A Russian court on Monday sentenced French researcher Laurent Vinatier to three years in prison for violating a law on registration as a “foreign agent.”

Judge Natalya Cheprasova of the Zamoskvoretsky District Court in Moscow read out the verdict and ruled “to find Vinatier guilty… and to impose a sentence in the form of three years’ imprisonment in a penal colony.”
