Tottenham 2-1 Man City: Fans give their opinion on the EFL Cup match

We asked him for his thoughts on Wednesday’s EFL Cup match between Tottenham and Manchester City.

Here are some of their comments:

tottenham fans

Doug: Great result, I’m happy because Werner scored a goal. He had some other opportunities and made better use of them, so I hope he continues to grow. Let’s hope Van de Ven’s injury is not serious. And when Romero came out we didn’t have any of our main center backs and we still played well and got the result. We have to continue building because Sunday’s game at Villa is complicated.

Stephen: I think we played well and had several opportunities to put the game away in the second half. We defended very well and Bentancur and Bissouma were very good together. We must remember that this was not Manchester City’s first team but it was ours.

William: Today was like Spurs’ victory against Manchester City of yesteryear: defensively solid and dangerous on the counterattack. I love watching Ange’s fearless style of play, but today he showed that sometimes taking a step back can work and that against teams like City you sometimes have to adapt your style of play depending on the quality of the opponent.

Manchester City fans

Toqir: They lacked the killer instinct. Pep put in a third eleven, there is no doubt about that. They had a good run, but they could have proven their authority if they had taken advantage of their opportunities. It’s a hard blow for me as a fan. But Pep made his opinion clear about the congestion of the games and the lineup of an inexperienced team.

John: Despite being defeated, it was very encouraging to see that much of City’s youth team suited Pep’s way of playing. City’s future looks good, very good.

Jim: I was at the game and worried about the ease with which Spurs scored the first goal. However, we had a good second half and the youngsters did well.
