Dear Annie: My wife accepted a dinner invitation from her ex-brother-in-law even though she knows he is romantically interested in her.

Dear Annie: My wife recently received a dinner invitation from her ex-brother-in-law to “talk about old times.” She’s thinking about going. I’ve seen them together a couple of times at weddings/parties, and it’s obvious he has feelings for her. When I told her in the past what I had observed, she confirmed it by saying “she already knew because he had sent her some romantic messages.”

I’m not a jealous guy. I trust my wife. But I think it’s inappropriate for her to leave because she’s potentially egging him on. What do you think? — Invitation to dinner

Dear dinner invitation: The wrong thing about her going is that she is a married woman and knows that this man is interested in her. Attend dinner with her or ask her to decline the invitation.
