Jayden Daniels of Washington Commanders after league loss against Baltimore Ravens

BALTIMORE – The Washington Commanders lost 30-23 to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday afternoon in Week 6.

While it wasn’t a battle between quarterbacks Jayden Daniels and Lamar Jackson, it is what many people billed, and if what came out of the battle, even more people than before understand that the Commanders have a quarterback worth is to build around.

After the game, Daniels himself spoke about how Washington can continue to build on its experience so it can learn even more from wins down the road than it already has.

“These are the type of games we want to play in and these are the type of games we will probably play in in the future and you have to be able to pull that out,” Daniels said after the loss. “This is the type of game you want to learn from and move on to the next one.”

Daniels himself will have plenty of opportunities to grow after throwing the ball 35 times on Sunday. That number of attempts is a season-high and therefore a career high, and it’s only the second time this year he’s even attempted 30 passes.

Defensively, Washington will need to learn as many lessons from this loss – only their second of the season – as they get hurt in the stat sheet and on the field.

In addition to losing the game, the Commanders also lost defensive end Dorance Armstrong Jr. and defensive tackle Jonathan Allen due to injuries – which head coach Dan Quinn said he hoped to get more updates on Monday. Defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste also limped off the field, so there is a threat of injury.

Overall, though, the Commanders came in wanting to compete – they did – and they’ll look to improve for their next trip this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

“We are here. We will never give up. We compete, we fight,” Daniels also said. “We’ll move on to the next one.”
