SEKHUKHUNE, LIMPOPO – A Limpopo woman has been arrested and will appear in court after her six-month-old child was found dead.

Woman arrested for child neglect

South African Police revealed that the 23-year-old woman from Atok village in Apel in Sekhukhune District was drinking on October 12, 2024. She left her child with a younger relative while she went out two days earlier. .

The child’s body was found lifeless and the woman was arrested. She is expected to appear in court on charges of child neglect. The province’s provincial commissioner, Lt. Gen. Thembi Hadebe, condemned the incident and called on community members to report cases of negligence and put the welfare of children first.

Woman arrested for child decapitation
