England’s latest goal proves the value of Lee Carsley’s interim spell 🤨

Lee Carsley may have already ruled himself out as permanent England manager, but his impact is undeniable.

The former midfielder watched Jack Grealish hand his temporary striker an early first-half lead in Sunday’s Nations League encounter with Finland.

Angel Gomes put the Manchester City playmaker ahead before a curled finish with a defensive pass in the 18th minute at Helsinki’s Olympiastadion.

Grealish now has four goals in his senior Three Lions career, two of which have come in three appearances under Carsley’s interim tutelage.

To put that into context, it took him 36 appearances to amass the same international spoils under predecessor Gareth Southgate.

He may still not be into it, but it’s clear that Carsley’s methods are having the desired effect on at least one player.
