Man Utd team’s true feelings on Ruben Amorim appointment, Ten Hag sacking revealed

Manchester United are closing in on appointing Ruben Amorim as their new manager after the Sporting CP boss agreed terms of the role.

The Red Devils sacked Erik ten Hag on Monday and were quick to open talks with the 39-year-old manager on the same day, with his move to Old Trafford now imminent.

The last obstacle to overcome is the agreement on compensation with Sporting. amorim has a €10m (£8.3m/£10.8m) release clause which will likely need to be paid in full.

Sources informed TEAMtalk that the Red Devil players reacted very positively to the news. Many had good relations with Ten Hag and were sad to see him go, but they all agreed that it was the right decision.

We understand that the team sees Amorim as a modern event with advance planning and that will align the club with some of its biggest rivals.

Negotiations over compensation are now at an advanced stage and Amorim respectfully awaits the green light to travel to Manchester.

The Sporting team are now awaiting Amorim’s departure and sources say they are “devastated” at the prospect of losing their coach. The respect for Amorim among Sporting players is enormous and some players have even refused to leave the Portuguese club to continue under his tutelage. However, they accept the fact that he will take on one of the most important positions in world football.

Rubén Amorim arrives at Manchester United now imminent

Chelsea and Liverpool previously scouted Amorim, but he ultimately stayed at Sporting, either by his own decision or because the clubs were looking in another direction. He has also admitted that he held talks with West Ham in April, before rejecting them.

Amorim will now face those teams in the Premier League this season as Man Utd’s new manager, where he is expected to turn around the club’s current dismal form.

As mentioned, the exit fee of around £8 million in Amorim’s contract with Sporting is being discussed between the clubs and this relatively cheap compensation package proved attractive to Man Utd, who are trying to reduce their overall costs.

Amorim could be on the bench for Manchester United’s clash against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday, while Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the Red Devil’s Carabao Cup clash against Leicester City on Wednesday.

He Manchester United The players are excited to get to work with Amorim, who hopes his team will compete for European football this season.

They currently sit 14th in the table after nine games, their worst start to a Premier League campaign by far.

Amorim’s ambitious transfer plans revealed

As we revealed exclusively on Tuesday morning, Amorim has already informed the Manchester United board about three Sporting players he would like to bring to Old Trafford.

Red Devils bosses have told Amorim that they expect him to improve on the players they already have, particularly new signings Joshua Zirkzee and Manuel Ugarte, both of whom he knows well.

But Amorim also has his eyes on potential new additions and we understand that he would like to sign Sporting trio Gonçalo Inácio, Marcus Edwards and Pedro Goncalves.

Inácio, 23, is considered one of the best young centre-backs in Europe and, as previously reported, Liverpool also have a specific interest in him. He has a €60m (£51m/$64.8m) release clause in his contract, which Sporting will demand in full.

Edwards, on the other hand, could be brought in as a replacement for mega-flop Antony, who will likely be loaned or sold by Man Utd in January.

Gonçalves will be the most difficult addition of the three, as Sporting see him as a vital player and will demand a large fee for his services.
