Dodgers’ Miguel Rojas responds to hateful comments from Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm

The Los Angeles Dodgers currently hold a 3-0 lead over the New York Yankees in the 2024 World Series.

Game 4 is Tuesday night and the Dodgers are one win away from taking home their second World Series title in five years.

As the teams continue to compete on the field, a major story that emerged at the beginning of this season involving one player from each team has resurfaced.

At the beginning of this season, then-Miami Marlins All-Star Jazz Chisholm Jr. had some harsh words for his former teammate, now Dodgers infielder, Miguel Rojas.

In an appearance in The Pivot PodcastChisholm criticized the Marlins’ “team captain” for not only being a bad team captain, but also for being a bad person.

“I was already a team leader without being called a team leader. But the veterans, you can’t be a team leader when you have guys in the clubhouse who have been there for 9 or 10 years, even though they stink, I’ve been there for 9 or 10 years and the team calls them the team captain,” Chisholm said.

“But they’re not a good captain, they’re not a good person, you’re not even a good athlete right now. You’re just here. And you’re tearing down young guys who are supposed to be good.” “.

Rojas responded to those comments in March about the Chris Rose Rotation. He was understandably upset.

“When you cross a line and say I’m not a good person and I’m there just because, I guess you’re thinking I’m telling someone I’m supposed to be there and please keep me here so I can be a player.” in the Major Leagues for 10 years, that’s what bothers me,” Rojas said.

Now, with Chisholm on the Yankees and the teams facing off in the World Series, Rojas was asked again about those comments in a interview with the New York Post.

This time, Rojas was clearly ready to move on.

“I don’t really pay much attention to people’s opinions, except for the people I really care about,” Rojas told The Post. “I can’t really tell you anything about his opinions because I don’t take his opinions the way he spoke.”

Rojas added: “I feel like I know my value. And I know what I bring to a team. Nobody needs to reinforce that.”

Chisholm was asked about the incident before the World Series began and said the former teammates had not spoken since their days in Miami.

“Like I said, I have nothing on it,” Chisholm said. “I go out and play baseball and enjoy it. Nothing more, nothing less.”

Yankees and Dodgers play Tuesday night in what could be the last game of 2024 Major Leagues season.
