BTA highlights the last week of Bermuda Arts Month

As Bermuda’s second annual arts month draws to a close, the Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) “encourages locals and visitors alike to take advantage of the ongoing exhibitions and remaining events that make this celebration of Bermuda’s vibrant culture and creativity such a made a success.”

A spokesperson said: “As October draws to a close, exhibitions at the island’s major galleries and museums will continue, providing a perfect opportunity to explore Bermuda’s rich artistic landscape.

“Exhibitions are underway at the Bermuda National Gallery (BNG), Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art, the Bermuda Society of Arts, the National Museum of Bermuda and the Black Pony Gallery in Cambridge Beaches. In addition, special exhibitions at the Loren Hotel and self-guided art tours at the Hamilton Princess Hotel remain available for those wishing to immerse themselves in Bermuda’s art scene.

• Compiled conversations with Yesha Townsend
• Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art, October 24, 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

“Don’t miss this unique event where Bermudian poet Yesha Townsend will present a curated conversation about the intersection of arts and culture in Bermuda. This is one of the last opportunities to participate in the interactive experiences of Art Month.

• Graham Foster Lecture at the National Museum of Bermuda (NMB)
• October 27, 1:00 PM

“Renowned Bermudian artist Graham Foster will provide insight into his iconic Hall of History mural, which spans 500 years of Bermuda’s history. This lecture is part of a series of lectures at NMB and promises to be a powerful reflection on Bermuda’s past through art.

• Bermuda National Gallery Biennale – Closing celebration of Art Month
• November 1, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

“The Bermuda National Gallery will host a unique closing event for the 2024 Bermuda Biennale, offering an intimate experience with the artists featured in the exhibition. This ‘human library’ experience allows visitors to interact with the artists, hear their stories and connect on a personal level with the creative minds behind the art. The ticketed event includes live music performed by In Love & Unplugged and art-inspired cocktails from Bacardi. Tickets can be purchased via the BNG website.”
